Cinemas Subsidy Scheme under sixth round of AEF completes disbursement

All cinema operators have applied for the Cinemas Subsidy Scheme under the sixth round of the Anti-epidemic Fund that was opened for application from February 18. The Commerce and Economic Development Bureau has disbursed the subsidies to all 61 eligible cinemas today (March 9).

The Scheme seeks to provide a one-off subsidy of $100,000 per screen to each existing cinema licensed as a place of public entertainment with commercial operation in December 2021. The maximum subsidy for a cinema circuit is $3 million.
