Government to set up Community Vaccination Centres in Kwun Tong and Tsing Yi
***************************************************************

The Government will set up additional Community Vaccination Centres (CVCs) in Kwun Tong town centre and Tsing Yi this Friday (March 11) to provide the Sinovac CoronaVac vaccination service. Online booking will start at 9am tomorrow (March 8).

The Millennium City 5 CVC is dedicated to providing the Sinovac vaccine to children and teenagers aged 3 to 17 and persons aged 60 or above. Located on the 17th floor of Millennium City 5, 418 Kwun Tong Road, members of the public can go to the vaccination centre by taking the designated lift at the office lobby of Millennium City 5, accessed via the second floor of apm, which is directly connected to MTR Kwun Tong Station.

The MTR Tsing Yi Station CVC will provide the Sinovac vaccine to persons aged 3 or above. The centre is located at the unpaid area of the Airport Express Concourse (Hong Kong-bound) on the U2 floor of MTR Tsing Yi Station.

The Secretary for the Civil Service, Mr Patrick Nip, said, "The two additional CVCs are both situated at locations with convenient transportation and I believe they can provide the greatest convenience to members of the public in the community, in particular the elderly. I am very grateful to Sun Hung Kai Properties and the MTR Corporation Limited for providing the venues free of charge so that more people can receive COVID-19 vaccines in a short period of time. Apart from protecting oneself, getting vaccinated can also reduce the speed of the spread of the virus.

"The Hong Kong Spinners Industrial Building CVC has also started providing Sinovac vaccination service to children, teenagers and elderly persons today. After the Millennium City 5 CVC has commenced operation, vaccination centres dedicated to children and elderly persons will be increased to three, in addition to four vaccination centres dedicated to administering the BioNTech vaccine to children aged 5 to 11.

"Since February this year, the Government has set up 13 additional CVCs, bringing the numbers of CVCs providing the Sinovac and BioNTech vaccines to seven and 20 respectively."

The two CVCs will be open daily from 8am to 8pm and will be closed between 1.30pm and 2.30pm for cleaning. In addition to taking prior bookings for vaccination, the Millennium City 5 CVC will distribute same-day tickets to children, teenagers and elderly persons. The MTR Tsing Yi Station CVC will distribute same-day tickets to persons aged 60 or above.

Persons receiving the vaccination have to bring along original identity documents. If children's identity documents do not bear the child's photo, such as the birth certificate, then school documents (such as school handbooks) bearing a photo of the student must be presented at the time of vaccination.

For children and teenagers aged 3 to 17, they must bring along a consent form signed by their parents on the date of vaccination. Please use the following version of consent form (www.covidvaccine.gov.hk/pdf/Consent_Form_for_COVID19_Vaccination_ENG.pdf). In addition, children aged 3 to 11 receiving the Sinovac vaccine must be accompanied by their parents/guardians in person when receiving vaccination.
