Caritas Medical Centre appeals regarding patient leaving Accident and Emergency Department without prior notification

The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

     The spokesman for Caritas Medical Centre made the following appeal today (March 5) regarding a patient leaving the Accident and Emergency Department (A&E) without prior notification:

     A 76-year-old male patient who tested positive for COVID-19 by rapid antigen test attended Caritas Medical Centre A&E for syncope yesterday (March 4). The patient was found leaving the hospital without prior notification later.

     Upon departure of the patient, security guards were deployed to search for the patient within the hospital compound and the vicinity at around 2pm today. The hospital also reported to the police for assistance. The hospital is very concerned about the incident and will fully co-operate with the police to locate the patient.

     The patient is about 1.65 meters tall, medium-built, with white short hair. He was wearing a black cap, a dark green jacket, black pants and sport shoes when leaving the A&E.

     The hospital appeals to the public to contact Cheung Sha Wan Police Station at 3661 1644 or call 999 if they know the whereabouts of the patient.
