Mainland COVID-19 medical expert delegation continues its visit in Hong Kong (with photos)

     The Mainland COVID-19 medical expert delegation that is assisting Hong Kong in tackling the fifth wave of the epidemic today (February 22) continued its visit. 
           
     This morning, the expert delegation visited the North Lantau Hospital Hong Kong Infection Control Centre, the AsiaWorld-Expo Community Treatment Facility and the Penny's Bay Community Isolation Facility to understand the positioning and operation of various isolation and treatment facilities built in response to the epidemic development in Hong Kong.
      
     In the afternoon, the expert delegation proceeded to visit Queen Elizabeth Hospital to conduct in-depth discussions with the clinicians there on the diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19 cases. They also inspected the relevant operation of the hospital.
      
     The Secretary for Food and Health, Professor Sophia Chan, said, "With the strong support from the Central People's Government, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government is working at full steam to enhance the capacity of hospitals to receive and treat patients, and to establish more isolation and treatment facilities to cope with the new wave of the epidemic. I believe that the experience of the Mainland expert delegation will help Hong Kong to make more effective use of different facilities in providing patients with suitable treatment and preventing the spread of the virus in the community."
      
     The Mainland COVID-19 medical expert delegation arrived in Hong Kong on February 19 for a visit.
