Government announces latest situation of fresh food supply from Mainland
************************************************************************
A Government spokesman announced today (February 21) that the supply of fresh food from the Mainland remained steady yesterday (February 20).

According to the latest information, the throughput volume of vegetables from the Mainland for supply to the local market through the wholesale markets of the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) and the Vegetable Marketing Organization yesterday (as at midnight) decreased slightly over that of the day before as a result of the disinfection of individual supply points, and stood at about 9 670 piculs (equivalent to about 585 000 kilograms), some 70 per cent of the volume of a normal day. The supply of chilled poultry and meat imported yesterday remained at around 60 per cent of that of a normal day. The supply of live pigs is operating as usual.

The AFCD updates and publishes the fresh food supply information daily. Members of the public may visit the AFCD website for updates on daily supplies and wholesale prices of fresh food (www.afcd.gov.hk/english/agriculture/agr_fresh/agr_fresh.html).
