Home Affairs Department stepped up enforcement actions relating to anti-epidemic regulations
******************************************************************************************
The Office of the Licensing Authority (OLA) under the Home Affairs Department stepped up enforcement action against those in defiance of the anti-epidemic regulations in premises licensed by the OLA today (February 20).

In the operation, the OLA inspected 32 club-houses which are licensed by the OLA with dominant services in catering, pubs/bars and mahjong playing. In respect of insufficient compliance with anti-epidemic regulations and restrictions found, the OLA issued a total of seven advice and warnings to the persons-in-charge of the premises.

In view of the epidemic developments in Hong Kong, the Government has tightened a series of social distancing measures since February 10, including the closure of some scheduled premises or related facilities, and further restricting the service hours of dine-in services and the maximum number of persons allowable per table.

A spokesman for the Government strongly appealed to persons-in-charge of the premises and visitors to stay vigilant and comply with the relevant regulations on prevention and control of disease to fight against the virus. The OLA will continue its enforcement actions.
