Government announces latest position of fresh food supply from Mainland
***********************************************************************
A Government spokesman announced an update on the fresh food supply from the Mainland today (February 13).

As some Mainland goods vehicle drivers were tested preliminarily positive in COVID-19 nucleic acid tests on February 11, the operation of the interchange venue for Mainland and Hong Kong goods vehicle drivers was suspended for disinfection.  Mainland goods vehicle drivers who stayed at the interchange venue on that day are also required to undergo quarantine.

To facilitate the ongoing fresh food import to Hong Kong, the Shenzhen Municipal People's Government has immediately facilitated the setting-up of temporary interchange venues yesterday (February 12) morning.  However, the supplies of vegetables and chilled poultry will be affected to a certain extent today due to the re-deployment of Mainland goods vehicle drivers.

The Mainland authorities and the HKSAR Government are working closely together to firm up the detailed arrangements to expedite the logistics of food supply for Hong Kong so as to resume the supply situation to normal as soon as possible.

Relevant bureaux/departments of the HKSAR Government will continue to maintain close liaison with the Mainland authorities to ensure smooth operation of fresh food supply to Hong Kong.
