Murder in Wong Tai Sin

     Police are investigating a murder case in Wong Tai Sin yesterday (February 11) afternoon in which a 39-year-old man died.

     At 5.05pm yesterday, Police received a report from a 59-year-old man that his 39-year-old male friend was injured inside a unit in Hung Ngok House of Choi Hung Estate.

     Police officers sped to the scene and found the 39-year-old man sustaining chest injuries and lying unconsciously in the kitchen. He was rushed to United Christian Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 6.10pm.

     Initial investigation revealed that the 59-year-old man assaulted the deceased with a beef knife after a dispute. Police later arrested the 59-year-old man and further seized a small quantity of suspected methamphetamine and a batch of drug-inhaling apparatus at the unit. He is arrested for murder, possession of dangerous drug and possession of instrument fit for the smoking of dangerous drug, and being detained for enquiries.

     A beef knife in suspected connection with the case was seized at scene.

     Post-mortem examinations will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of death of the deceased.

     Active investigation by the District Crime Squad Team 1 of Wong Tai Sin District is underway.
