Four staff members and one outsourced cleaning worker of LCSD tested preliminarily positive/positive for COVID-19

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) today (February 10) said that a Workman I working at Tai Po Tau Playground, Chung Nga Road Children's Playground and Chuen On Road Garden in Tai Po District, a Workman I working at Victoria Park in Wan Chai District, a staff member working at the General Registry of the North District Leisure Services Office, as well as a designer working at the Hong Kong Museum of Art (HKMoA) have tested preliminarily positive for COVID-19.  Moreover, an outsourced cleaning worker working at Tai Po Waterfront Park in Tai Po District has tested positive for the disease.  

     The male staff member working in Tai Po District last performed duties on February 9, the female worker working in Wan Chai District last performed duties on February 8, while the female staff member working in North District last worked in her office on February 7. They underwent a COVID-19 test as they felt unwell earlier, and were notified that they had tested preliminarily positive for COVID-19.
            
     The designer last worked at the HKMoA on February 8. He underwent COVID-19 test in the testing center after he learnt that his residential area had been reported with positive result of sewage surveillance. He was notified today that he had tested preliminarily positive for COVID-19. The Museum has been temporarily closed since January 7. 

     Meanwhile, the female outsourced cleaning worker lasted performed duties at Tai Po Waterfront Park on February 5. She underwent a COVID-19 test, and was notified yesterday (February 9) that she had tested positive for COVID-19.

     The four staff members and the outsourced cleaning worker have no recent travel history, wore surgical masks and observed relevant infection control measures when performing their duties. They had also maintained proper social distance with people they had contact with. The LCSD will arrange for their co-workers to undergo COVID-19 testing. The department will also arrange thorough cleaning and sterilisation at their working areas and public utilities according to the guidelines of the Centre of Health Protection (CHP).

     ​The LCSD is highly concerned about the COVID-19 epidemic and will continue to maintain close liaison with the CHP. Staff are reminded to pay attention to personal hygiene and to stay vigilant. They should seek medical advice immediately if feeling unwell.
