Person who visited visit facilities of Tai Tam Gap Correctional Institution tests positive for COVID-19

The Correctional Services Department (CSD) today (February 10) said the department was notified by the Centre for Health Protection (CHP) that a visitor who visited a detainee in Tai Tam Gap Correctional Institution on January 31 has tested positive for COVID-19.

The CSD will arrange for the detainee and staff concerned of the institution to undergo COVID-19 testing.

The CSD will continue to maintain close liaison with the CHP and actively co-operate with the CHP's quarantine arrangements. The CSD has also reminded its staff to pay attention to personal hygiene and stay vigilant. Staff have been reminded to seek medical advice and inform the department as soon as possible if feeling unwell.
