Government announces fifth round of Anti-epidemic Fund measures
***************************************************************

The Government today (January 14) announced measures for the fifth round of the Anti-epidemic Fund, committing a total funding of about $3,570 million.

In view of the development of the epidemic situation, the Government tightened social distancing measures with effect from January 7. This decisive tightening of measures has impacted the business of certain sectors, especially those business premises that have been asked to close, and catering business premises where dine-in service after 6pm has been banned. The Government therefore swiftly decided to roll out relief measures under the fifth round of the Anti-epidemic Fund.

This round of measures under the Anti-epidemic Fund consists of two parts, namely relief measures for premises and individuals directly affected by the latest round of tightening of social distancing measures, and relief measures for trades which have not seen any business revival since the onset of the epidemic due to the as-of-yet resumed flow of people between Hong Kong and other places. Relevant measures are set out at the Annex.
