Intangible Cultural Heritage Funding Scheme 2021 opens for application
**********************************************************************
The Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) Funding Scheme for this year under the ICH Office of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) is open for application from today (December 23).

The funding scheme consists of two parts, namely the Community-driven Projects 2021 and the Partnership Projects 2021. The objective of the funding scheme is to support local individuals and organisations with relevant experience to carry out ICH projects with a view to strengthening the safeguarding, research, education, promotion and transmission of Hong Kong's ICH items, as well as supporting the transmission of ICH by local bearers and bearer organisations. Through engaging the community's participation in safeguarding ICH, the scheme aims at enhancing public awareness, understanding and respect in regard to ICH.

The scope of support of the Community-driven Projects 2021 covers projects related to the items in the Representative List and the Inventory of the ICH of Hong Kong. For the Partnership Projects 2021, applications are invited for six items, namely the Research and Publication on the Items of the Representative List of the ICH of Hong Kong; the Survey and Research for Enriching the ICH Inventory of Hong Kong; ICH for All; ICH@Schools; the "Meet the Masters" Series; and ICH Roving Exhibitions.

Application information of the ICH Funding Scheme is available at the ICH Office's website (www.lcsd.gov.hk/ICHO). Applicants must submit the application form and relevant documents in person to the Sam Tung Uk Museum at 2 Kwu Uk Lane, Tsuen Wan, New Territories, or via email to ichfs_app@lcsd.gov.hk. The deadline for applications is noon on February 9, 2022 (Wednesday). For enquiries, please contact the ICH Office at 2267 1971.

A briefing session will be held at 3pm on January 6 (Thursday) at the Lecture Hall of the Hong Kong Space Museum, 10 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, to brief interested individuals and organisations on the content and application details of the funding scheme.
