Regional Joint Office (New Territories East) of Joint Office for investigation of water seepage cases comes into full operation

     The Joint Office (JO) for investigation of reports on water seepage in buildings set up by the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD) and the Buildings Department (BD) today (December 20) announced that its Regional Joint Office (New Territories East) came into full operation today to handle reports on water seepage in buildings in the New Territories East districts.

     A spokesman for the JO said, "Today signifies the full realisation of the reorganised JOs. The work team of the JO provides a one-stop service to the public with both the legal authority of the FEHD and the building survey expertise of the BD. To improve the overall efficiency and enhance communication between JO staff of the two departments, the JO has relocated its four district joint offices in Sha Tin District, Sai Kung District, Tai Po District and North District to the new office. The Hong Kong, Kowloon, New Territories West and New Territories East Regional Joint Offices are each led by a Superintendent from the FEHD and a Senior Professional Officer from the BD in a dedicated manner following reorganisation, with staff of the two departments working in the same office and strengthening mutual co-operation and communication to help speed up the processing of cases, with a view to achieving greater synergy in the operations and providing better services to the public."

     The Regional Joint Office (New Territories East), located at Units 2101-2103 & 2111-2121, 21/F, Tower 2, Grand Central Plaza, 138 Sha Tin Rural Committee Road, Sha Tin (Tel: 3426 3346), is the fourth Regional Joint Office of the JO. The other three, the Regional Joint Office (Hong Kong) at Yip Kan Street in Wong Chuk Hang, the Regional Joint Office (Kowloon) at Wang Kwong Road in Kowloon Bay and the Regional Joint Office (New Territories West) at Sha Tsui Road in Tsuen Wan, came into full operation last year.
