     Attention TV and radio duty announcers. Please broadcast the following special announcement immediately and repeat it at frequent intervals:

     The Electoral Affairs Commission (EAC) announced that as the poll for the 2021 Legislative Council General Election was interrupted for 10 minutes by the problem of power connection of the Electronic Poll Register system at 7.43pm today (December 19) at the polling station at Caritas St. Joseph Secondary School (Code: S2201), after taking into consideration relevant circumstances, the EAC has decided to extend the polling hours for the polling station for 10 minutes to 10.40pm for the affected electors to cast their votes.

     According to section 5(g) of the Electoral Affairs Commission Ordinance, the Commission may do such other incidental act or thing or exercise such powers as it considers necessary or expedient for the performance of its functions under this or any other Ordinance.
