Members of the public are reminded to take note of the on-site arrangement and co-operate with the staff of the public transport operators.

"Since the free ride day is on a Sunday and the polling day, it is anticipated that the demand for public transport services may be higher than usual, in particular for the routes to certain popular spots. We advise members of the public to pay attention to the latest traffic situation and real-time information provided by public transport operators before going out. We also advise members of the public to plan ahead for their journeys, reserve sufficient commuting time, and be patient and stay alert to the road conditions while queueing for public transport services," the TD spokesman said.

The TD's Emergency Transport Co-ordination Centre will closely monitor the traffic conditions throughout the territory, co-ordinate with government departments and public transport operators to meet passenger demand on the polling day, and implement appropriate traffic management measures with the Police. The TD will update the public on the latest traffic information through media, the TD's homepage (www.td.gov.hk) and the "HKeMobility" mobile application.
