Special traffic and transport arrangements to be implemented for Cross Harbour Race in Wan Chai North and Tsim Sha Tsui this weekend
******************************************************************************************
The Transport Department (TD) today (December 10) reminded the public that to facilitate the holding of the Cross Harbour Race 2021, the following special traffic and transport arrangements would be implemented in Wan Chai North and Tsim Sha Tsui this weekend (December 11 and 12):

* The section of Expo Drive East outside Golden Bauhinia Square (including the pick-up/drop-off area) will be temporarily closed from 0.30am to 1pm on December 12.

* Landing steps No. 3 to 5 of Kowloon Public Pier will be suspended from 9am on December 11 to noon on December 12. The landing steps of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai and Avenue of Stars in Tsim Sha Tsui will be suspended from 9am on December 11 to 1pm on December 12.

* Ferry services plying between Wan Chai and Tsim Sha Tsui and plying between Central and Hung Hom will be suspended from 7.30am to 11am on December 12 (subject to the actual re-opening time of the affected area of the harbour).

* The terminal point for cross-harbour bus route No. 961 at Expo Drive East will be relocated to Wan Chai North Temporary Public Transport Interchange, and the en-route bus stop for New World First Bus route No. H1 at Expo Drive East near Convention Avenue will be relocated to outside Wan Chai Ferry Pier. These two bus routes will be subject to diversion during road closure.

Motorists are advised to avoid driving to the affected areas. In case of traffic congestion, motorists should exercise tolerance and patience, and follow the instructions of the Police. Members of the public planning to go to the affected area should use public transport as far as possible.

The public transport operators will display notices to inform passengers of the temporary arrangements. Public transport users should pay attention to the arrangements for bus route diversions and relocation of bus stops. The TD and the Police will closely monitor the traffic situation and implement appropriate measures when necessary.

For details on the special traffic and transport arrangements, members of the public can browse the TD's website (www.td.gov.hk) or mobile application "HKeMobility".
