Contractor fined for violation of safety legislation

YKK AP Hong Kong Limited was fined $145,000 at Kowloon City Magistrates' Courts today (December 9) for violation of the Factories and Industrial Undertakings Ordinance and the Construction Sites (Safety) Regulations. The prosecutions were launched by the Labour Department.

The case involved a fatal accident that occurred on May 24, 2018, at a construction site in Ho Man Tin, Kowloon. A worker while working on the upper roof of a building fell to the roof. The worker sustained serious injuries and passed away on the same day.
