Appointments to Advisory Committee on Mental Health

The eight newly appointed members are Ms Jamie Cheng Po-kwan, Dr Carolyn Kng Poey-lyn, Ms Rachel Leung Wai-ling, Dr Pamela Tin Sze-pui, Mr Tso Tat-ming, Mr Terry Wong Chung-bao, Mr Banny Lau and Ms Barbara Tong.
Separately, for the two incumbent members, Miss Angel Chan Hoi-yi and Mr Ikey Cheung Ho-yuen, who were appointed earlier through the Member Self-recommendation Scheme for Youth, their term will be until February 28, 2023.
The Secretary for Food and Health, Professor Sophia Chan, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Chairman and members of the Advisory Committee for their valuable advice in the past two years. She also especially thanked the nine outgoing members, Dr Felix Chan Hon-wai, Dr Eugenie Leung Yeuk-sin, Ms Kimmy Ho Wai-kuen, Mr James Lam Yat-fung, Ms Anita Wong Yiu-ming, Professor Loretta Yam Yin-chun, Ms Lily Chan Lei-hung, Mr William Choy and Mr Stephen Leung Mung-hung for their contributions.
Established in December 2017, the Advisory Committee on Mental Health advises the Government on mental health policies, including the adoption of a more integrated and comprehensive approach to tackle multi-faceted mental health issues in Hong Kong. In the new term, the Advisory Committee will continue to assist the Government in developing policies, strategies and measures, as well as to follow up on and monitor the implementation of the recommendations of the Mental Health Review Report with a view to enhancing mental health services in Hong Kong.
