Fatal traffic accident in Tin Sum

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Tin Sum yesterday (November 18) in which a 37-year-old man died, while two men and nine women were slightly injured.

     At about 11.16pm, a bus driven by a 58-year-old man was travelling along Tai Po Road - Tai Wai towards Hin Keng. When approaching the junction of Tai Po Road and Tsing Sha Highway, it reportedly lost control and side-turned.

     Sustaining serious head injury, a 37-year-old male passenger was certified dead at scene. Besides, the 58-year old male bus driver, a man and nine women, aged between 19 and 70, were slightly injured and were sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Prince of Wales Hospital for medical treatment.

     The 58-year old male bus driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm. He is still being detained for further enquiries.

     Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South is underway.
