Radio drama to showcase life-changing journey of trainees of Youth Employment and Training Programme
******************************************************************************************
The Labour Department (LD) and Radio 2 of Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) will jointly present a new radio drama "A Moment to Fly II", as a sequel to last year's "A Moment to Fly", to promote Youth Employment and Training Programme (YETP) services. The production aims to encourage young people who might sometimes feel lost in pursuing their dreams that with courage and the persistence to try, they could all take flight on their own pathway and realise their dreams.

The radio drama consists of seven short stories adapted from the real-life experiences of some awardees of the YETP Most Improved Trainees 2020. It showcases how they have overcome various challenges in the workplace with their perseverance and passion for work, as well as with the support of their employers, case managers and family.

Featuring singers Ansonbean, Mischa Ip, Alex Fong, Shiga Lin, Aka Chio, Jace Chan and fencer Lawrence Ng, the 20-episode radio drama will be broadcast during the programme "Three's a Crowd" on RTHK's Radio 2 every Wednesday between 3pm and 5pm from November 17.

The YETP is open to young school leavers aged 15 to 24 with educational attainment at sub-degree level or below. Enrolment for the YETP is free of charge on a year-round basis. Services offered include pre-employment training, one-month workplace attachment training, on-the-job training for six to 12 months, and case management services provided by registered social workers. Trainees receive personalised career guidance, job search assistance and employment support. An off-the-job vocational training allowance and a retention allowance are provided to eligible trainees.

For details, please visit the YETP's website at www.yes.labour.gov.hk. The LD has also set up a Youth Employment Services hotline at 2112 9932 to provide a one-stop enquiry service regarding the programme and receive registrations of on-the-job training vacancies from employers.
