City Gallery exhibition features first-round Lantau Conservation Fund approved projects (with photo)

The $1 billion Lantau Conservation Fund, one of the key initiatives of the Lantau Tomorrow Vision announced in the Chief Executive's 2018 Policy Address, was set up and opened for the first round of application in 2020, of which $500 million is for supporting minor local improvement works for conservation, while another $500 million is for providing financial support to eligible organisations and post-secondary education institutions to conduct research projects or collaborate with local communities and landowners to carry out conservation and related projects in Lantau. The projects are categorised by Conservation Management Agreement Projects, Research Projects and Education and Engagement Projects.
An overwhelming response for the three categories was received and 18 projects, involving a total grant of over $50 million, have been approved for funding. The Lantau Conservation Fund will start accepting the next round of applications at the end of this year.
Exhibition visitors, wearing 3D glasses provided on-site, can visualise the beautiful features of Lantau illustrated by a series of 3D photos, and take photos with props in the 3D photo booth.
