Hospital Authority announces senior appointment (with photo)

The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority: 

     The Hospital Authority (HA) spokesperson announced the following senior appointment today (September 23):
 
     Dr Eric Cheung will be appointed as Cluster Chief Executive of Kowloon Central and Hospital Chief Executive (HCE) of Queen Elizabeth Hospital with effect from March 1, 2022, succeeding Dr Albert Lo upon his retirement.
      
     Dr Eric Cheung is a specialist in psychiatry and is currently the HCE of Kwong Wah Hospital (KWH). Dr Cheung is a seasoned senior executive with solid experience in healthcare service management. Prior to his current appointment, he was the HCE of Castle Peak Hospital and Siu Lam Hospital from 2012 to 2017. Dr Cheung has led various service improvement initiatives, such as steering the KWH redevelopment project and formulating various initiatives to relieve access block during the redevelopment period. He has also played a significant role in driving and shaping service development in mental health at the corporate level.
      
     The HA Chairman, Mr Henry Fan, and the HA Chief Executive, Dr Tony Ko, congratulated Dr Cheung on his new appointment and wished him every success in taking up the new role.
      
     Mr Fan and Dr Ko also expressed appreciation to Dr Lo for his distinctive contributions to public healthcare services for over 30 years, and commended his strong leadership in driving service development all along. They wish Dr Lo a happy retirement.
