Hong Kong Police's National Security Department arrested and charged six men and one woman
******************************************************************************************
The National Security Department of the Hong Kong Police (NSD) launched enforcement operations in various districts from September 8 to 9 and arrested six men and one woman, aged between 36 and 71. The arrested persons were the general committee members of the Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements of China (the Alliance), suspected of violating relevant offences under the Hong Kong National Security Law.

The NSD today (September 9) conducted searches at the headquarters and a warehouse of the Alliance respectively located in Mong Kok and Kwai Chung with a court warrant. Documents, computers and promotion materials were seized in suspected connection with the case. About $2.2 million worth of the Alliance’s asset connected to the case was frozen by the NSD.

After investigation, the NSD laid charges this evening against four men and one woman, aged between 36 and 71, for failing to comply with the requirement to provide information pursuant to Schedule 5 of the Implementation Rules for Article 43 of the Hong Kong National Security Law. The 36-year-old woman and two men, aged 64 and 69 respectively, as well as the Alliance were charged for inciting subversion under Article 22 and 23 of the Hong Kong National Security Law.

The case will be mentioned at the West Kowloon Magistrates’ Courts tomorrow morning (September 10).
