Correctional officers stop assault on person in custody

At 5.33pm today, a 34-year-old male person in custody attacked another 32-year-old male person in custody with a plastic stool outside a dining hall. Officers at the scene immediately stopped the assailant.
During the incident, the victim sustained injuries to his head and chest and more and was referred to a public hospital for further treatment after examination and treatment by the institution Medical Officer. The assailant sustained injuries to his leg and more. He did not need to be sent out after receiving medical treatment.
The case has been reported to the Police for investigation.
The two persons in custody were sentenced to imprisonment for the offence of trafficking in a dangerous drug and forcible taking or detention of person, with intent to sell him respectively.
