Latest sale arrangements for parking tickets of government car parks managed by TD
***************************************************************

‚ÄčThe Transport Department (TD) said today (August 16) that in view of the latest situation of COVID-19, to reduce the risk of the disease spreading through crowds gathering for purchase of parking tickets and to ensure fair allocation of parking spaces to the public, the special sale arrangements will be, for the last time, implemented at the seven government car parks under the management of the TD for monthly tickets for September. Subsequently, the TD will sell the quarterly parking tickets of the five government car parks (i.e. Tin Hau, Shau Kei Wan, Aberdeen, Kwai Fong and Tsuen Wan Car Parks) where demand is high through balloting. The remaining two government car parks (i.e. Star Ferry and City Hall Car Parks) will sell monthly parking tickets on a first-come, first-served basis.

Arrangements for sale of parking tickets for September

The holders of monthly tickets for private car/van, motorcycle or taxi for August of Star Ferry Car Park, City Hall Car Park, Tin Hau Car Park, Shau Kei Wan Car Park, Aberdeen Car Park, Kwai Fong Car Park and Tsuen Wan Car Park can purchase a monthly ticket for the same vehicle type for September with priority. These eligible monthly ticket holders have to complete the procedures for purchasing the monthly ticket for September by 9pm on August 22 at the shroff offices of the car parks concerned. Any such person who fails to purchase the monthly ticket before the above deadline will be regarded as having given up his or her right to purchase the monthly ticket for September. The unsold monthly tickets for private car/van for September will be sold at the shroff offices of the car parks concerned on a first-come, first-served basis from 7.30am on August 23, while the unsold monthly tickets for motorcycle and taxi for September will be sold at the shroff offices from 7.30am on August 24.

Arrangements for sale of parking tickets for October and afterwards

The TD will allocate and sell the quarterly parking tickets (i.e. with a validity period of three months) of Tin Hau Car Park, Shau Kei Wan Car Park, Aberdeen Car Park, Kwai Fong Car Park and Tsuen Wan Car Park through balloting. Applicants for the quarterly parking tickets for October to December may obtain and submit an application form at the shroff offices of the above-mentioned car parks from August 23 to September 7, or submit an online application via www.tdcarpark.com.hk from August 23 to September 5. In case the number of applications for quarterly parking tickets exceeds the parking ticket quota, the TD will allocate the tickets by balloting. The car park operators will put up notices in the car parks to further announce details of the ballot.

As for Star Ferry Car Park and City Hall Car Park, where the demand for parking spaces is relatively low, monthly parking tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. The monthly tickets for private car/van for October will be open for sale from 7.30am on September 23 whilst those for motorcycle for October will be open for sale from 7.30am on September 24. Meanwhile, the monthly tickets of City Hall Car Park for taxi for October will be open for sale from 7.30am on September 24.
