Correctional officers stop assault on person in custody

At 18.24 pm yesterday, a 41-year-old male person in custody attacked another 32-year-old male person in custody while on their way back to the dormitory. Officers at the scene immediately stopped the assailant and called for reinforcement.
During the incident, the victim sustained injury to his face. After examination and treatment conducted at the institution hospital, he was referred to a public hospital for further treatment. The assailant did not sustain any injury, and thus no need to be sent out to a public hospital.
The case has been reported to the Police for investigation.
The two persons in custody were sentenced to imprisonment for the offence of assault with intent to rob and riot respectively.
