Vacancies in District Councils

     The Government declared by notice in the Gazette today (July 16) the existence of 214 vacant elected seats in the 18 District Councils. 

     Following the resignation of elected members set out in the tables attached, pursuant to section 26(b) of the District Councils Ordinance (Cap. 547), their offices have become or will become vacant from the dates specified in the tables attached.
