Vacancy in Kwai Tsing District Council

The Government declared by notice in the Gazette today (July 9) the existence of a vacant elected seat in the Kwai Tsing District Council Wah Lai Constituency.

The elected member, Mr Sin Chung Kai, pleaded guilty in a criminal case and was sentenced to 14 months' imprisonment, suspended for 24 months. Pursuant to section 26(c) of the District Councils Ordinance (Cap. 547), his office has become vacant since May 28, 2021.
