Labour Department to hold occupational health public talks

     The Labour Department (LD) will hold a public talk entitled "Prevention of heat stroke at work in a hot environment" on July 15 (Thursday) at 3.30pm. The talk, designed for workers working in a hot environment to enhance their awareness of heat stroke prevention, will cover symptoms of heat stroke, its first aid and preventive measures. It will be given by the LD's occupational hygienist and occupational health nurse.

     The LD will hold another public talk entitled "Occupational safety and health (OSH) for confined space workers" on July 22 (Thursday) at 3.30pm. To enhance workers' OSH awareness in confined spaces, the talk will explain the related OSH hazards as well as their preventive measures. It will be given by the LD's occupational hygienist, occupational safety officer and occupational health nurse.
      
     Both talks will be given in Cantonese in the Lecture Hall of the Hong Kong Space Museum, 10 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui. Admission is free but pre-registration is required. On-site registration is not available. Infection control measures taking into account the latest epidemic developments will be adopted at both venues.
