Franchised bus company supports outreach vaccination service (with photos)
**************************************************************************
The Secretary for Transport and Housing, Mr Frank Chan Fan, today (July 5) visited the staff of the Kowloon Motor Bus Company (1933) Limited (KMB) and their family members who received COVID-19 vaccination at KMB's Kowloon Bay Depot. The KMB Administration Director, Mr Steve Hui, also joined the visit.

More than 170 KMB staff and their family members are expected to receive the BioNTech vaccine today as arranged by the Government's outreach vaccination service.

Mr Chan said, "Hong Kong has a comprehensive public transport network. Some 90 per cent of our daily commuter trips are on public transport, of which more than 30 per cent are on franchised buses. Getting vaccinated is of utmost importance to employees of franchised bus companies as they will have contact with the public every day. This is not only to protect themselves, but also to build an immune barrier for their families and the community."

Mr Chan appealed to all employees of the public transport sector to participate in the COVID-19 Vaccination Programme as soon as possible. He also called on various public transport operators to join the Government in promoting the Early Vaccination for All campaign and actively encourage and arrange for their staff members to get vaccinated.

Mr Chan expressed his gratitude to the medical team and administrative support staff of the Community Vaccination Centre at Osman Ramju Sadick Memorial Sports Centre for providing the outreach service for KMB.
