Beware of fraudsters posing as HKMA staff

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) received enquiries from the members of the public about fraudsters posing as HKMA staff over the telephone asking for credit card payment. We would like to remind the public that the HKMA staff will not contact the public with regard to personal financial matters. The HKMA has referred the case to the Hong Kong Police Force for further investigation.
Members of the public who suspect that they have become victims of any fraudulent acts should contact the Police or the Commercial Crime Bureau of the Hong Kong Police Force at 2860 5012 for follow-up actions and investigation by the Police.
