Police appeal for information on fatal traffic accident in Yuen Long

     Police today (June 10) appealed to the public for information on a fatal traffic accident in Yuen Long on May 31 in which a 67-year-old woman died.

     At about 2.50pm that day, a light goods vehicle (LGV) driven by a 57-year-old man was travelling along an unnamed road in Tan Kwai Tsuen northbound. When approaching near 311 Tan Kwai Tsuen, it reportedly knocked down the 67-year-old female pedestrian.

     Sustaining serious head injury, the woman was rushed to Tuen Mun Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 10.48pm on June 8.

     The 57-year-old LGV driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death after the accident. He has been released on bail pending further enquiries and is required to report back to Police in early July.

     Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North is underway.
