Correctional officers stop fighting among persons in custody

At 8.18pm yesterday, four male persons in custody aged between 26 and 43 engaged in a fight inside a dormitory. Officers immediately called for reinforcement to stop the fight.
One of the persons in custody sustained injuries to his head, chest and more. He was referred to a public hospital for further treatment after examination and treatment by the institution Medical Officer. A further two persons in custody sustained injuries to their hands and shoulder respectively. They did not need to be sent out after receiving medical treatment. The remaining person in custody did not sustain any injury.
The case has been reported to the Police for investigation.
The four persons in custody were sentenced to imprisonment for the offences of trafficking in a dangerous drug and robbery.
