Hospital Authority releases Medication Safety Bulletin

The Hospital Authority (HA) today (May 28) published the biannual issue of "Medication Safety Bulletin" (MSB). This issue reported on the Annual Medication Safety Forum held in December 2020. The Forum is one of the HA's key initiatives to enhance the awareness of risk management among healthcare professionals in public hospitals.
This issue also shared the experience of Hong Kong West Cluster in using the Inpatient Medication Order Entry System to create a weight-based guide for adjusting the dosage of intravenous paracetamol to minimise the risk of hepatotoxicity; and the latest update of eight guidelines related to medication safety.
The publication has already been posted on the HA homepage for sharing with healthcare professionals. Members of the public are also welcome to browse at the following link www.ha.org.hk/msb. The MSB is published every six months, on the last Friday of May and November. The next issue will be published on November 26, 2021.
