Tenders invited for road works under Development of Lok Ma Chau Loop Main Works Package 1

     The Civil Engineering and Development Department (CEDD) today (April 30) invited tenders for the contract for Development of Lok Ma Chau Loop: Main Works Package 1 - Contract 2 Western Connection Road Phase 2, Connection Roads to Fanling/San Tin Highway and Direct Road Link Phase 1 (Contract No. YL/2020/02).
      
     The works mainly include:
  • construction of Western Connection Road Phase 2 through widening of a section of existing Lok Ma Chau Road of about 530 metres long;
  • construction of Direct Road Link Phase 1 comprising a viaduct of about 720m long connecting MTR Lok Ma Chau Station to Ha Wan Tsuen East Road;
  • construction of slip roads connecting Lok Ma Chau Road and Fanling Highway/San Tin Highway including a viaduct of about 340m long, and associated junction/road improvement works;
  • construction of a cycle track cum footbridge of about 300m long connecting Lok Ma Chau Road and Castle Peak Road - Chau Tau;
  • construction of associated works including footpaths, cycle tracks, slopes, retaining walls, water supply system and drainage system; and
  • provision of environmental mitigation measures including noise barriers.

     The works are scheduled to commence in September 2021 and will take about 50 months to complete.

     The CEDD has commissioned AECOM Asia Company Limited to design and supervise the works. Interested contractors may obtain the forms of tender and further particulars from the company at 12th Floor, Tower 2, Grand Central Plaza, 138 Sha Tin Rural Committee Road, Sha Tin, New Territories, Hong Kong.
           
     The invitation to tender was gazetted today. The closing time for the tender is noon on July 2, 2021.
