Lands Department releases video clip on compensation and rehousing arrangements for land resumption and development clearance
******************************************************************************************
The Lands Department (LandsD) released today (April 23) a video clip to brief those affected by land resumption and development clearance by the Government on various types of ex-gratia allowances and rehousing arrangements.

Ex-gratia allowances and rehousing arrangements are non-statutory compensation offered to eligible persons affected by land resumption and clearance exercises for government development projects, and are intended to help minimise their hardship. Those affected include landowners, tenants, occupants of squatter structures, farmers and business undertakings, etc. Presented in a concise and straightforward manner, the video clip makes the eligibility criteria and details of various kinds of ex-gratia allowances and rehousing arrangements more accessible to the persons concerned.

Members of the public can view the video clip and learn more about the frequently asked questions and details relating to the compensation and rehousing arrangements by visiting the LandsD's website (www.landsd.gov.hk/en/land-acq-clearance/land-resumption-clearance/rehousing.html).
