In support of the National Security Education Day on April 15 organised by the Committee for Safeguarding National Security of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Police Force held an open day today (April 15) at the Hong Kong Police College, with an aim to enhancing the public’s understanding of national security and the Force’s work in safeguarding national security.

With the theme of “Protect National Security, Safeguard Our Homeland”, the open day has morning and afternoon sessions. Apart from the first Chinese-style drill performance by the police officers, Police Band performances and anti-terrorism exercises by special units of the Force, there were also exhibition panels on national security education, display of a specialised crowd management vehicle and a Unimog armoured personnel carrier, as well as equipment display by the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Bureau and the Railway Response Team, etc.

The Force hoped that members of the public could learn more about national security by participating in the event, and would support and have a better understanding of the Force’s work in safeguarding national security.
