Tenders invited for Lok Ma Chau Loop Main Works Package 1 - Site Formation and Infrastructure Works

     The Civil Engineering and Development Department (CEDD) today (December 24) invited tenders for the contract for Lok Ma Chau Loop Main Works Package 1 Contract 1 - Site Formation and Infrastructure Works inside Lok Ma Chau Loop and Western Connection Road Phase 1 (Contract No. YL/2020/01).
      
     The works mainly include:

• ground treatment and site formation works of about 75 hectares within the Lok Ma Chau Loop (the Loop);
• construction of about 3,000-metre-long carriageway and associated footpaths and cycle tracks, and a public transport interchange, within the Loop;
• construction of Western Connection Road Phase 1 through widening of the existing Ha Wan Tsuen East Road of about 800m long; associated ground treatment and site formation works; construction of footpath, cycle track, slopes and retaining walls; and construction of a bridge about 60m long over the old Shenzhen River meander;
• provision of other infrastructure, including a tertiary sewage treatment works and sewerage system, a water supply system and a drainage system, and other associated works; and 
• environmental mitigation measures including compensation for offsite wetland of about 18 ha and offsite woodland of about 1.3 ha.
 
     The works are scheduled to commence in June 2021 and will take about 52 months to complete.
      
     The CEDD has commissioned AECOM Asia Company Limited to design and supervise the works. Interested contractors may obtain the forms of tender and further particulars from the company at 12/F, Tower 2, Grand Central Plaza, 138 Sha Tin Rural Committee Road, Sha Tin, New Territories.
      
     The invitation to tender was gazetted today. The closing time for the tender is noon on February 26, 2021.
