Five hotels start to operate as designated quarantine hotels today
******************************************************************
A Government spokesman said today (December 18) that a total of five hotels (Dorsett Tsuen Wan, Hong Kong; Dorsett Wanchai, Hong Kong; Regal Oriental Hotel; The Kimberley Hotel; and The Kowloon Hotel) have already started to operate as designated quarantine hotels. Starting from today, they solely receive travellers arriving from foreign places for the purpose of undergoing compulsory quarantine. The Government today arranged dedicated teams to inspect the five hotels. The quarantine arrangement has been smooth so far.

The Designated Quarantine Hotel Scheme will be fully implemented on December 22, by then all 36 designated hotels must solely be receiving travellers arriving from foreign places who need to undergo compulsory quarantine.

To further reduce the contact between persons subject to quarantine and the local community, the Government has arranged all travellers to be accommodated at designated hotels to board the designated transport to proceed to their hotels. There are five routes for the designated transportation service, covering Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and New Territories daily from 2pm to 11pm. The designated transport will convey the travellers from the airport (at an average interval of 30 minutes) and the Holding Centre for Test Result located at the Rambler Garden Hotel (at an average interval of 15 minutes) to the designated quarantine hotels.

Travellers arriving from foreign places who have reserved booking at non-designated hotels are also required to directly proceed from the airport or the Holding Centre for Test Result to the hotels with bookings by means of transportation. They are not allowed to visit any other places in their journey.
