The following is issued on behalf of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority:
 
     The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) announced today (December 18) that it would conduct a market survey in relation to the Hong Kong Growth Portfolio (HKGP) established as part of the Government's Future Fund.
 
     The Financial Secretary announced in the 2020-21 Budget his decision to deploy part of the Future Fund to establish the HKGP. The HKGP would make strategic investments in projects with a Hong Kong nexus. The HKMA would provide necessary administrative support to the HKGP.
 
     The purpose of this market survey, to be conducted by the HKMA as the HKGP's administrator, is to better understand the profiles of private equity firms with interest to become a general partner for the HKGP.  
 
     The market survey starts today. Interested private equity firms, local and overseas, are welcome to take part in the market survey on or before January 22, 2021. Further details are available on the relevant webpage (www.hkma.gov.hk/eng/about-us/market-survey).
