Public hospitals daily update on COVID-19 cases

As at 9am today (December 9), 87 COVID-19 confirmed patients were discharged from hospital in the last 24 hours. So far, a total of 5 783 patients with confirmed or probable infection have been discharged.
At present, there are 676 negative pressure rooms in public hospitals with 1 235 negative pressure beds activated. A total of 1 149 confirmed patients are currently hospitalised in 22 public hospitals and community treatment facility, among which 39 patients are in critical condition, 58 are in serious condition and the remaining 1 052 patients are in stable condition. Moreover, an 85-year-old female patient (case number: 7132) confirmed with COVID-19 infection was sent from a quarantine centre to Queen Mary Hospital this afternoon and passed away at 3.26pm today. Including this patient, 111 COVID-19 patients have passed away in public hospitals so far.
The Hospital Authority will maintain close contact with the Centre for Health Protection to monitor the latest developments and to inform the public and healthcare workers on the latest information in a timely manner.
