AFCD staff tests positive for COVID-19
**************************************
The Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) said that a staff member had tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on November 28.

A spokesman for the AFCD said, "The staff worked at the Tung Chung Au Country Park Management Centre on Lantau Island and mainly performed general cleansing duties inside the Centre without contact with members of the public while at work. She last performed her duties on November 24 and has no recent travel history. She wore surgical masks while performing her duties and properly maintained social distancing with people she had contacted. Her body temperature was normal when undergoing temperature screening during work."

The spokesman noted that the AFCD would cooperate with the Centre for Health Protection (CHP) in the epidemiological investigation and arrange other staff working with the affected to take COVID-19 tests. The concerned work place will also be thoroughly cleaned and sterilised. The management centre in question will be closed until further notice. Visitors to the country park will not be affected.

The AFCD has all along been concerned about the COVID-19 epidemic. Relevant hygienic measures for infectious diseases provided by the CHP have been strictly observed. All staff have their body temperatures checked before performing their duties, and wear proper personal protective equipment.

The department will continue to step up cleaning and sterilising all work locations and remind all staff to strictly comply with the hygienic measures for infectious diseases provided by the CHP. Should they feel unwell, medical advice should be sought.
