Correctional officers stop person in custody attacking staff

After yesterday's attack on a correctional officer at Lo Wu Correctional Institution, the 21-year-old female person in custody was sent to the Custodial Ward of Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further examination and treatment due to her unstable emotion, after receiving treatment at the institution hospital.
At 12.26pm today, she suddenly attacked the face of a correctional officer with her hand when receiving nursing care. The officers and medical staff at the scene immediately stopped her.
The officer sustained injury to his nose and received examination and treatment at Queen Elizabeth Hospital. The assailant did not sustain any injury.
The case has been reported to the Police for investigation.
The assailant was sentenced to imprisonment for the offence of trafficking in a dangerous drug.
