Operating hours of mobile specimen collection stations and mobile van in Tai Po extended to 8pm (with photos)

     In view of a number of confirmed COVID-19 cases relating to residents in Tai Po recently, and in order to identify cases in the community as early as possible to help cut transmission chains, the Government has immediately extended operating hours of the mobile specimen collection stations and a mobile van to provide free testing services to enable and encourage residents of Tai Po or individuals who perceive themselves as having a higher risk of exposure to undergo free COVID-19 testing.
      
     For the convenience of the public, the Government extended operating hours of the below services to 8pm from today (November 9) for the:
 
  • mobile specimen collection stations (today to November 11) at the volleyball court next to Kwong Wai House of Kwong Fuk Estate and the open space outside Fu Shin Community Hall; and
 
  • the mobile van distributing and collecting deep throat saliva specimen bottles (today and tomorrow (November 10)) near the taxi station in front of the Hang Seng Bank at 41 Kwong Fuk Road.
 
     The other mobile specimen collection station located at the open space between the Pai Lau and the Pavilion of Wai Tau Tsuen will maintain operations until 5pm (today to November 11).
      
     The testing agency will provide specimen collection services at the mobile stations, offering combined nasal and throat swabs for COVID-19 testing. 
      
     A Government spokesman said, "With positive public response to the above services, we have decided to extend their operating hours to provide testing for citizens. The Government will review the operation of and public demand for the mobile van and mobile specimen collection stations, and determine whether it is necessary to extend the arrangement." 
      
     The spokesman urged all individuals who are doubtful about their own health conditions to undergo testing for the protection of themselves and others to fight the epidemic together.
