Statistics Advisory Board discusses developments of official statistics work
****************************************************************************
The Statistics Advisory Board held a meeting today (November 6) to discuss official statistics work and its recent developments.

Members noted the latest progress regarding the preparation work for the 2021 Population Census and provided views and suggestions on the overall plan of the Census.

The Commissioner for Census and Statistics and Chairperson of the Statistics Advisory Board, Ms Marion Chan, said, "A series of publicity programme for the Census will be launched as from early 2021 to solicit respondents' co-operation and boost the use of online questionnaires. We will monitor the development of the local epidemic situation closely and adopt suitable measures during the data collection process to reduce social contact."

Moreover, members were briefed on the two statistical surveys conducted by the Census and Statistics Department (C&SD) for compiling business expectation statistics of prominent establishments and small and medium-sized enterprises with a view to providing a quick reference for assessing the short-term economic performance of the local economy.
