The Sports Premises Subsidy Scheme, launched under the third round of the Anti-epidemic Fund by the Government, opened for applications today (October 30). The Scheme will provide a one-off subsidy of $30,000 to each eligible sports premises.
 
     Owing to the deteriorating COVID-19 epidemic situation in mid-July, the Government further tightened social distancing measures. Operations of all sports premises were suspended as directed under the Prevention and Control of Disease (Requirements and Directions) (Business and Premises) Regulation (Cap. 599F). The Scheme aims to provide financial relief to the affected sports premises.
 
     The application details of the Scheme are available on the website of the Home Affairs Bureau (HAB) (www.hab.gov.hk/en/policy_responsibilities/fitness/aefspss.htm). The application form and guidelines can be downloaded from the website.
 
     The deadline for application is November 30. Applications will be processed concurrently during the application period and will be assessed on the basis of all the information provided. To avoid delays in processing, applicants should ensure the accuracy of the information submitted.

     According to the Regulation and application guidelines of the Scheme, eligible sports premises must be an individually-operated premises possessing a fixed address in Hong Kong where its principal and substantive business is to provide indoor or outdoor sporting activities as promoted by the respective national sports associations or sports organisations recognised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department.
