Transcript of remarks by SFH at media session (with photos)
***********************************************************
Following is the transcript of remarks by the Secretary for Food and Health, Professor Sophia Chan, at a media session after receiving the seasonal influenza vaccination at the Kwai Tsing District Health Centre today (October 23):

Reporter: You said you will closely monitor the effect of the vaccine, what exactly would you do to closely monitor? Will there be follow-ups on people who are vaccinated? How confident are you that the Hong Kong Government can get enough extra vaccines for the high-risk groups, the 100 000 vaccines?

Secretary for Food and Health: We have announced that we will procure additional vaccine of 100 000 doses for the high-risk groups for the VSS (Vaccination Subsidy Scheme) doctors. We understand there is an outcry for more flu vaccines in the private market. It is of our best interest to have these high-risk groups or priority groups to have the vaccine as soon as possible and that is why the Government and the Department of Health have made special arrangements.
