Muse Fest HK 2020 features delightful online and offline programmes and activities
**********************************************************************************
The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) is now presenting Muse Fest HK 2020. An array of online and offline programmes and activities covering culture, history, art, film, science, astronomy and conservation is being presented by 20 museums and related offices under the LCSD, and has been rolled out for public participation. In addition, museums from Italy and Macao are collaborating as festival partners to promote the vibrancy of museum culture.

With "Express" as the theme, the festival this year aims to feature the adjustments that museums have had to make under the COVID-19 pandemic. To maintain service quality, museums have been exploring new directions and possibilities in programme design to offer visitors more new experiences in a timely manner by pushing the limits of innovations.

To encourage the public to study and appreciate art, culture and history in depth through illustrative publications after visiting the museum, a highlighted new programme this year called "50% Off Selected Museum Publications" will present 100 illustrative museum catalogues and publications for sale. The mega-promotion book sale will take place at the Hong Kong Museum of Art, the Hong Kong Heritage Museum, the Hong Kong Museum of History and the Hong Kong Film Archive. Online sales platforms are also available at designated online bookshops. Book lovers should not miss this opportunity. To tie in with this book sale, curators from different museums will hold public dialogues during four different talk sessions under the not-to-be-missed "Reading with Curators Talk Series". The LCSD hopes that regardless of COVID-19, the public could still enjoy its diverse offerings in culture and history by reading at home.

The festival will run for more than two months. More fabulous programmes and online resources will be rolled out gradually. For details, please visit the website of the festival at www.museums.gov.hk/mf2020.
