Fatal traffic accident in Sau Mau Ping

At 4.35am, a taxi driven by a 64-year-old man was travelling westbound along Ngau Tau Kok Road. When turning right to On Shin Road, it reportedly knocked down the 65-year-old female pedestrian who was crossing the road.
Sustaining serious head injury, the woman was rushed to United Christian Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 5.03am.
The taxi driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for further enquiries.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East is underway.
