Full resumption of face-to-face classes at all schools in Hong Kong
*******************************************************************
Subsequent to the smooth resumption of face-to-face classes of Secondary One, Five and Six and Primary One, Five and Six as well as Kindergarten Three for schools in Hong Kong on September 23, the remaining levels (namely Secondary Two to Four and Primary Two to Four as well as Kindergarten One and Two) also resumed face-to-face classes today (September 29).

A spokesman for the Education Bureau (EDB) said, "Over the past week, schools in general operated smoothly. Schools have strictly implemented all the necessary anti-epidemic measures to ensure teachers and students can learn happily in a safe and hygienic campus environment. We are pleased to see students return to schools with joy and actively participate in the campus school life."

The spokesman stressed that as the epidemic situation may still be unstable, all parties should stay vigilant and remain cautious. Schools should continue to strictly put in place the various anti-epidemic measures, including checking body temperature upon the entry of students and visitors to school premises, maintaining social distance, and wearing of masks at all times.

The spokesman added, "In response to the developments of the epidemic, schools may need to switch between face-to-face classes or online learning from time to time under the new normal of learning. We appeal to parents and students for their understanding and co-operation."

The EDB will continue to take into account the latest developments of the epidemic as well as the advice from health experts. The bureau will also maintain close liaison with the school sectors to consider when the resumption of full-day schooling can take place. The EDB is also continuing the discussion with relevant parties on the arrangements for cross-boundary students to attend school in Hong Kong. Upon finalisation of the details, the EDB will make announcements early to allow schools to make advance preparation.
